HOW TO USE SQUAREFORGE

Step 1: Purchase and Installation

  • Purchase Square Forge: Obtain your license through the SquareForge website. Ensure you provide the email account linked to your Squarespace account during purchase.

  • Installation: We will install Square Forge on your Squarespace account within 2 working days.

Step 2: Duplicating the Master Template

  • IMPORTANT - Duplicate the Master Template: Always duplicate the Master Template before starting work on a new project.

Step 3: Saving Sections for Reuse

  • Identify the Section: Identify the section you wish to save on the Squarespace page.

  • Save the Section: Edit the page, navigate to the desired section, and click the heart icon to save it to your panel.

Step 4: Utilizing Saved Sections

  • Add Saved Sections: Go to the page where you want to insert the saved section. Select 'Add Section' and choose from your saved sections.

  • Customize the Section: Once added, you can move, delete, or adjust elements within the section as needed.

Step 5: Customizing Sections on New Pages

  • Adjust Layouts: To make layout changes, use the drag-and-select tool to select elements. Duplicate and rearrange as necessary to create the desired structure.

  • Modify Content: You can replace images, adjust text, or alter styles using tools available within Squarespace and Square Forge.

Step 6: Advanced Styling Options

  • Change Visuals: Access the style section to alter colors and backgrounds to match your branding.

  • Refine on Mobile: Switch to mobile view to optimise layout and spacing for all devices.

Step 7: Setting Website Visibility

  • Configure Site Visibility: In settings, adjust the site's visibility options (private, password-protected, or public) based on your subscription level.

  • Secure Access: Set a site password for added security before sharing with clients or collaborators.

Step 8: Adding Admin Users

  • Access Permissions: Return to settings and navigate to 'Permissions'.

  • Add New Admin: After domain changes, add a new admin to ensure they have access under the updated settings.

Troubleshooting

Encountering issues while using Square Forge with Squarespace?

This guide provides solutions to common problems you might face during the setup and use of Square Forge. From installation delays to compatibility issues after updates, find actionable steps here to resolve your concerns and ensure a smooth experience with your Squarespace projects.

  • Problem: Delay in the installation of Square Forge beyond the expected 2 working days.

    Solution: Confirm that the correct email linked to your Squarespace account was provided during purchase. Check for confirmation emails from Pixelhaze, including in your spam folder. If there’s still a delay, contact Pixelhaze support for an update.

  • Problem: Images fail to transfer correctly when duplicating a Squarespace website using Square Forge.

    Solution: This is a known issue with Squarespace’s platform. Manually re-link the missing images or replace them with placeholders or final images that match your project's brand.

  • Problem: Significant delay when attempting to duplicate websites from the Squarespace master template.

    Solution: Check your internet connection and refresh the browser. If issues persist, search for ‘Square Forge’ in your Squarespace account panel.

  • Problem: Loss of critical data from editing the master template in Squarespace.

    Solution: Direct editing of the master template is inadvisable. If data loss occurs, contact Pixelhaze to setup a new version of the forge at a one-off fee of $49.

  • Problem: Square Forge comes with a six-month Squarespace trial which needs action before expiration.

    Solution: To maintain functionality, we recommend that you mark your calendar to replicate the forge before the trial ends. Square Forge Pro accounts receive quarterly updates, which simplifies this process.

  • Problem: Squarespace updates are causing compatibility issues with Square Forge.

    Solution: If a platform-breaking update occurs within 90 days of purchase, Pixelhaze will endeavor to update Square Forge accordingly. If an update is not feasible, a full refund is offered within 30 days or a 50% refund within a 90-day window.

  • Problem: Admins and users are experiencing access issues after domain changes.

    Solution: Ensure all users are informed of the new domain. If access problems persist, re-invite users to the admin panel.

  • Problem: Saved sections do not appear or function as expected on new pages.

    Solution: Confirm sections are correctly saved in your panel. If problems persist, check your Squarespace settings to ensure all necessary features are enabled.

  • Ensure your browser and Squarespace platform are up to date to minimize issues.

  • Regular backups of your website before making major changes using Square Forge.

  • Contact Pixelhaze technical support for any unresolved issues for detailed assistance.
